I Iove making these rugs as every one I make is different and unique as the colour combinations always vary and I get a lot of pleasure to see them transform into beautiful pieces of art.I source the selvedge from different places- most of it is selvedge from Hanley’s Woolen Mills near Nenagh and some of them are offcuts I picked up on a holiday two years back when I passed Foxford in Mayo. Some of the rugs have the odd bits from Avoca and there are even a few bits of Donegal tweed that I get from a local friend who uses fabrics from there. Every rug is a bit like a story of some of the different mills in Ireland all brought together into one piece of work – and you can imagine the story every time you step on it.

I have a passion for using things that are not needed any longer and find it very difficult to throw things away as I always feel that something is waiting to be made out of everything.

All the rugs are woven on a floor loom and they are lovely and soft and a treat to be the first thing to stand on when you get up in the morning – and I find that makes getting up early a lot easier.

The rugs can be washed on a 30C wool-wash cycle in a standard washing machine- but often they just need a good shake to dislodge dirt that has become trapped in them.

All rugs are made out of 100% natural fibres – all wool and cotton.

They do very well as a unique gift for someone special or for a special occasion and also look beautiful as a hanging on the wall.
