Walking with Ponies is an outdoor experience, where we offer the opportunity for you meet our ponies and learn about Ireland’s rarest native equine breed, the Kerry Bog Pony. Then take a walk around our small farm, observing our natural surroundings. You will find yourself relaxing and shedding your stresses and pressures as we walk.
We walk the path of the Great Southern and Western Railway line, built in the 1880’s and closed down less than a hundred years later. Every area has its own distinct history and heritage, it’s amazing what you can find out when you begin to look!
We value nature and try to work with it, not against it. As a result, there are plenty of bird and animal species to be spotted – you can never tell what you will see when you set out, it could be a Peregrine Falcon hunting, or the long-tailed tits feeding. You might spot the Sika deer crossing the field or meet a beautiful little stoat out hunting. Several species of butterflies and moths might be spotted, depending on the day.
Come and experience our countryside and meet our ponies for an outing to remember.
