A lovely Irish gift to give to friends at home and abroad.Connemara Marble is one of the rarest marbles in the world and is found exclusively in the West of Ireland. It is becoming increasingly rare. The world’s finest truly green marble, it varies in colour from silver grey, pale green, shades of sage and moss to a deep variegated dark green.It is a metamorphic rock formed when limestone was heated under pressure, producing a hard granular rock. Originally deposited near the end of the Precambrian era and about 700 million years ago. It is extremely hard, polishes well and resists staining.
Often called Ireland’s national gemstone and used for centuries in jewellery making, as a means of exchange, for fixtures in stately buildings both at home and abroad, it is the traditional gift between families who vow friendship through generations.
