Since the first time I discovered my parent’s vinyl records 9 years ago, I’m fascinated by this object. We had a vinyl player at home and my mom showed me one of her favourite artist : Edith Piaf and my dad : Deep Purple. With these albums, I felt the soul of the vinyl record music. After this time, I wanted to listen to more music and more vinyls. Every Sunday, I went to car boot sales to buy my quintessence. I bought a lot of vinyls. Now, I have 3 000 vinyls records.
But, some vinyls I bought were scratched and I couldn’t listen to them. The question was : what can I do with these ? Throw in bin ? yes, but it’s not ecological as the material isn’t recyclable. Leave it in my attic for 50 years ? There is no sense to do it as nobody could see this beautiful object. After a time, I thought that I could give them a second life and do something beautiful.
Vinyl records aren’t only to be listened to, but they are a piece of art with a multi-generational dimension. It is for this reason that I want to share with you my passion for vinyls.
