Welcome to Trendy Threads, a wholly Irish owned business based in Spiddal, Galway. We are a small family business, pursuing a lifetime dream of running our own fabric and haberdashery shop.
Founded in 2020, our shops main goal was to provide quality and affordable sewing materials to people like us who lived in rural Ireland and wouldn’t have access to shops like these. For a lot of us the travel to and from fabric shops would cost as much if not more than what we were actually buying, and ordering online meant extortionate shipping prices. This online shop came about when we realised a lot of other crafters out there had the same problem.
Our shop also offers online sewing courses, run by our Resident Designer and Tutor, Linda of Smaointe Go Leor. Linda has over 30 years dressmaking experience and has undertaken qualifications over the years to expand her knowledge and skill. We are now collaborating with her to bring you personalised clothing and accessories in English and Irish - perfect for a wedding, christening, birthday or any gift giving.
Linda's speciality is dressmaking (primarily vintage inspired garments) and accessory design, as well as proficiency in other areas such as pattern drafting, bridal design and homewares. Our courses by Linda range from the core basics of sewing for absolute beginners, to more challenging projects and courses for those who want a challenge.
We are very active on social media as far as posting, replying to comments and messages and our newest feature, the Trendy Threads blog. We use our social media presence to not only update customers on new stock, but also to share our journey as a company, feature all the fabulous creations made both in house and by customers using our products, and keep in touch with the public.
Our aim is to offer great products at really competitive prices, with local delivery/collection in the Galway area so you can save on P&P too. Our P&P rates are based on An Post standard rates of postage. We are also happy to source particular items for you, and if you have any inquiries please do not hesitate to contact us.
