Fire Agate free form 25X18mm
Fire agate, a variety of chalcedony, is a semi-precious natural gemstone discovered so far only in certain areas of central and northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. Approximately 24-36 million years ago these areas were subjected to massive volcanic activity during the Tertiary Period. The fire agates were formed during this period of volcanism when hot water, saturated with silica and iron oxide, repeatedly filled cracks and bubbles in the surrounding rock. This Fire agate has many variations in colour and an uneven surface. It is suitable for jewellery making or craft projects. LLGems

I will give indications of general sizes in the description. Our prices include VAT so if you are registered for VAT, please ask for a VAT invoice. We are a subsidiary of Lapis Jewellers who have imported loose gemstones and beads since 1980. We have sourced this material directly from the stone cutters and Pearl dealers in Hong Kong, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Brazil, and some we have cut ourselves. We are qualified gemologists besides having a background in geology. We have generally sourced high grade material or price accordingly for lower grades. If you don’t see what you are looking for, we may have it, just send a query. We can add stock to the store that might suit. So far this is a small selection of what we have available.
