Sea Glass is glass that has been smoothed and frosted from years of rolling in the waves, no two pieces are the same, which makes for a completely unique gift.

This picture design depicts a jellyfish, with the caption “i lost my heart to the ocean” inscribed underneath. The best quality piece of genuine Sea Glass found on the East Coast of Ireland has been used in this picture. A smooth frosted white sea glass piece has been specially chosen for its shape and translucent qualities, just like jelly fish, and 3 small sea glass pieces make up the central part of the jellyfish. The simplicity of the design, and 3-d effect make this a lovely unique picture gift.

The black box frame can be hung or stand alone on a shelf or table.

Hi, I’m Niamh, a lifelong Thalassophile and Sea Glass Addict! As a child I collected Sea Glass, or “jewels”, as I called them, and I took great delight when I found them half hidden, glistening in the sand.

Now, years later, and living on the County Wicklow coast, I still take great delight when I find Sea Glass treasure on the beach, and wonder about the story behind each unique piece. Did it originate from a vase once sat lovingly on a table decades before, or a glass, a bottle, or a 100 year old Crystal Chandelier! I use the best pieces I find in my art, with beautifully smoothed edges and a frosted surface, which means they’ve been rolling around in the sea and scultped by the waves for many years. Heart shapes are a favourite of mine to find, it still amazes me how a broken piece of glass can be sculpted by the waves into into a little glass heart. Sea Glass is becoming harder to find as glass is now commonly recycled instead of ending up in the sea.

Each picture is unique, I love making new designs and can make very personalised pictures, customised exactly to your needs. The pictures make a unique and special gift, and when the light catches the glass, they look gorgeous.
