The inspiration for this piece came while I was walking on an Irish beach on a windy day and the ocean waves where high. I love to add additional elements to my work in this piece a collected seashell (treated & preserved) along with a heated textile piece to give the impression of the shoreline. This is an original textile art piece 23x23cm fully framed in white. To complete the gift, it will be beautifully gift wrapped in sustainable brown paper with a fabulous bow made from recycled woven textiles. My background story:

With a surname like Conneely I originate from a small town in the West of Ireland. Most of my inspiration comes from my love of the rugged Irish landscape. This has been instilled in me from a very young age growing up in Connemara.

I try to create pieces that bring a sense of peace and harmony into everyday life.

I am so proud of my heritage and I am passionate about sharing our culture and scenes of our beautiful country in my art. I am a keen photographer and creative writer and where possible I like to incorporate all three.

My work:

I returned to College as a mature student in 2016 for a two year full time course in Creative Textiles. This course has opened the doors to a whole new world of colour and creativity for me. It has been the most challenging and hugely enjoyable two years of my life.

Since graduating I have found that the course has hugely broadened my knowledge of Art, Craft & Design Industry and I have found a new passion for creative textile art.

For me it’s all about the colour, volume and texture in every piece to give it a unique three dimensional layered effect.

It is important to me to use sustainable/natural /upcycled materials where possible.
