Summer sun bangle handcrafted from brass, copper and alpaca silver then polished and lacquered to prevent tarnishing, presented in a printed presentation box. The inspiration for this piece comes from early pre Christian calendars from a time when life was governed by the sun. The calendar of our ancestors was based around the high, mid and low points of the sun in the sky. Summer sun being a high point known as the summer solstice. These symbols adorn many of the newgrange monuments in Co. Meath.

My name is Kieran Cunningham.
Having worked in metal design since 1977, I have developed a unique range of handcrafted, modern Irish jewellery, with influences taken from a rich ancient Celtic heritage.
Each piece of jewellery is original in design and individually handcrafted from raw materials such as sterling silver, yellow gold, brass, copper and alpaca silver, using only a select range of hand-tools to create each piece. The hand-chiselled scroll effects and shining hammered finishes are an age-old tradition of Celtic jewellery design passed down through the centuries and now almost a thing of the past.
