‘Fall of leaves’ – fine art giclée landscape print created from my original acrylic painting. This autumnal scene is a regular walk for my dogs in West Cork. ‘Fall of leaves’ perfectly describes this painting and is taken from the term 'Fall of leaf' which was historically often used, but subsequently became just 'Fall' or 'Autumn' depending on where you live. If you happen to be superstitious then it’s said to bring good luck to the person who catches a falling leaf. Produced by the giclée printing method using special long-lasting pigment on 180gsm watercolour paper. Mounted onto acid free board suitable for prints on watercolour paper. Located on the eastern side of the Fanad Peninsula the Great Pollet Sea Arch is one of the largest and most impressive sea arches in Ireland and is an awesome detour off the Fanad Head stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way. In recent years the Great Pollet Sea Arch has become notoriously difficult to access but the magnificent sea arch is more than worth the effort! Capturing moments that mean the world to us! I recently painted this serene scene of my husband and his friend against the backdrop of the majestic Foyle River in Derry, Northern Ireland. The gentle ripples of the water against the traditional Curragh boats create such a captivating contrast, don't you think? This painting holds a special place in my heart as it commemorates the incredible day when my husband and his friend crafted their very own Curragh, joining a fleet of these beautiful vessels for a grand launch on the Foyle. It was a momentous occasion for our community, with Curraghs of all shapes and sizes lining up along the riverbanks. The sense of pride and camaraderie that filled the air that day was truly palpable. As I put brush to canvas, I couldn't help but be inspired by the bond between friends, the beauty of our surroundings, and the rich history of our beloved Derry. Situated on the northern coast of the Fanad Peninsula in North Donegal, the lighthouse is a signature discovery point on the Wild Atlantic Way - a world-famous coastal route that spans seven of Ireland’s counties, taking in some breathtaking scenery along the way.   One of the world's most beautiful and photographed lighthouses on one of Ireland’s headlands most northerly headlands in Fanad Co Donegal Ireland.   The lighthouse has been keeping watch on marine traffic since 1817.   In 1817 the Saldhana was wrecked in Lough Swilly with the loss of 254 souls with the only survivor the ship's parrot.   It was after this tragedy that a lighthouse was built and was first lit on St Patrick's Day 1817.
