I turned this piece by hand using Beech wood which I sourced locally and responsibly here in Co. Tipperary, Ireland. This piece has some beautiful rare birds eye figure, usually found in maple wood, giving the piece a very distinctive look. The bowl features an slightly undercut rim and feels very nice in the hand. The bowl is intended too be used as a decorative piece. However, it is finished with food safe linseed oil.

I work with locally sourced logs and enjoy bringing a piece from raw timber through to a finished piece. My preference is to let the grain, shape, and imperfections of the wood guide each piece.
