Capturing moments that mean the world to us! I recently painted this serene scene of my husband and his friend against the backdrop of the majestic Foyle River in Derry, Northern Ireland. The gentle ripples of the water against the traditional Curragh boats create such a captivating contrast, don't you think? This painting holds a special place in my heart as it commemorates the incredible day when my husband and his friend crafted their very own Curragh, joining a fleet of these beautiful vessels for a grand launch on the Foyle. It was a momentous occasion for our community, with Curraghs of all shapes and sizes lining up along the riverbanks. The sense of pride and camaraderie that filled the air that day was truly palpable. As I put brush to canvas, I couldn't help but be inspired by the bond between friends, the beauty of our surroundings, and the rich history of our beloved Derry.
