My name is Alma O Donoghue. I’m an Artist, Illustrator and Designer based in Southwest Kerry.
I trained in Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design & Technology studying Animation Communications. During my time there I enjoyed learning and creating all forms of art. Following this I studied Multimedia in Kerry College. This course gave me the opportunity to create computerised graphics & short video clips. Over the years I have animated short clips for educational learning, illustrated books, designed logos and at the moment designing personalised packaging. My love of art keeps me exploring new and exciting ways to express my work through different mediums and vibrant colours.
I started needle felting and creating images using 100% sheep’s dyed wool during the first lockdown from Covid-19. Being surrounded by the beauty of the South Kerry coastline and mountains my subject matter wasn’t hard to contemplate. Beach foraging was something I have loved for years. I used to create my own greeting cards for family and friends and the positive feed back I got from them encouraged me to create “Forage Art”.
My shop has a variety of pictures using Sheep’s Wool and Forage Art. There all different sizes. I love the challenge of creating a commission.
