Glenade Lough, meaning “lake of the glen of jealousy” is located in the Glenade Valley in Co. Leitrim.

Glenade Lough is situated between the Dartry Mountains to the west and the Arroo Mountain range to the east.

The lake is located about 9 kilometres northwest of Manorhamilton and 12 km south of Kinlough.

It is 1.6 km long from northwest to southeast and covers an area of 0.74 square kilometres.

The homestead of the 1916 leader Seán Mac Diarmada in Kiltyclogher, Co. Leitrim is the jewel in the county’s historic crown.

The Sean Mac Diarmada Cottage is located in Corranmore, a few kilometres outside the village of Kiltyclogher and is maintained in its original condition as a National Monument by the OPW since 1964.

The homestead consists of three buildings, the cottage, the dairy and the byre and commands an impressive view across the valley. The interior of the MacDiarmada family home is an impressive example of a traditional Irish cottage and is incredibly atmospheric.
