Eco Forge

Growing up in the shadow of the Cuilcagh Mountains, farming and country life pays a big influence into most of our creations. I am self taught at welding and woodworking, as there is always more to fix and build on a farm (as you probably know!) The horseshoe is a symbol of rural life and being a recycled product it is a wonderful material to work with. Once the horses are finished with them, we are happy to clean them up and give them a new lease of life as anything from a boot rack to a charming fairy door! A horseshoe will last a lifetime so our creations are a gift for life. Each piece we create is unique, as no two shoes are ever the same.

PeekaPooka

Have you ever met a pooka? Well if you have ever spent any amount of time in Ireland chances are you have you just don't know it. A pooka is one of the most intriguing characters in the vast landscape of Irish folklore.  This ancient fairy creature is a mischievous and elusive gifted prophesier. A shape-shifting spirt able to take on any form, animal or human. In recent years they have been known to frequent bars, starting up conversations with unsuspecting customers causing mischief then disappearing.  How would you recognise a pooka? Not many have the power to spot one but they are there under old boats and on bollards by the Claddagh. Or hiding under the frost on upturned currachs. Even on the beach. I use my camera to get up close and personal to capture what the eye sometimes doesn't see. I have named these prints. Can you see what I see or maybe something different?

Originally from Barcelona,  Spain, I moved to Ireland in 2003 and, after finishing my Post graduate program in Trinity College, I met my future husband. Last year, when our little girl was making her first communion, I realised I wanted to create something special for her, and that's how Goodhouse Creations started. Since then, I have been making beautiful keepsake memories for special occasions, such weddings, Christenings and much more. Thanks for all your support in our new adventure!
