My Happy Home Disabled

Hi , we are a small family run business based in Co. Galway making unique handmade plant stands. Each plant stand is made by hand, without tools. The materials we use are concrete and copper. All our plant stands are hand wrapped in biodegradable sacks and finished off with a pretty bow, making them both appealing and exciting to receive as a gift.

Thread & Bead

Spell Out Your Story Hi, I am Laura! Thread & Bead is a one-woman studio where the smallest beads turn into stories. I make bracelets and jewellery that feels personal - pieces you can wear yourself or gift to someone you love. My Morse Cords are at the heart of it all: little secret-message bracelets that hide a wish or a reminder in dots and dashes. You choose the colours, the vibe, and I turn it into a piece that’s handmade, durable, and meaningful. Every bracelet, earring, or beadwork piece is made by me at my small desk in Kerry, one knot and one bead at a time. It’s slow work, but I like it that way. You’re not buying something mass-produced, you’re getting something made with care and probably a cuppa nearby. If you’re looking for a gift that feels truly personal - or a reminder you can carry with you every day - you’re in the right place. Thank you for being here. 🤍 What Is a Morse Cord? A Morse Cord is a delicate bracelet that hides a message in Morse code, the communication system made from dots and dashes. In your bracelet, the dots and dashes are tiny gold beads that spell a word or expression in a subtle, meaningful way. Each bracelet comes on a signature card with a simple layout: Word → Morse Code → Bracelet → A short message On the back, you’ll find a small dictionary-style meaning of the chosen word. If you’d like something more specific, just contact me and I can make a custom version. The bracelet is finished with an adjustable slip knot for easy sizing. Need a child size, or shorter/longer ends? Let me know before purchasing and I’ll tailor it for you. What Can You Personalise? Every Morse Cord is made to order so you can choose the look you love. You can personalise: Cord colour (9 options) Accent bead colour - the beads placed between each letter (9 options) The dot-and-dash beads (the actual Morse code) stay gold for now. If none of the available colour combinations feel right, you can still reach out, I work with over 90 bead colours, I just don’t list them all to keep things neat. More personalisation options (custom words, silver/gold choices for dots and dashes) are coming soon.

Ursula Kane Cafferty

Ursula Kane Cafferty Born in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland in the mid-1950s I have always felt deeply connected to and interested in the place. Our family hardware and pub business was located in Dominick Street, a dynamic and lively neighbourhood in which to grow up. My career choice as a nurse and midwife gave me the opportunity to travel to Zambia where I was based in Monze Mission Hospital for a number of years before returning home to work again in Mullingar in a number of healthcare management positions. Now retired and living on the outskirts of town, I am a graduate of the Maeve Binchy Writers Course in the National College of Ireland, author of two books (“Suitcase Number Seven” & “Snappin’ Twine“) and developer of the family board game ActiVacation®.

Caoimhin Ó Miadhacháin Art

Texture is essential in my process. I build and reduce layers of acrylic paint, sometimes sanding back surfaces to reveal what lies beneath. This gives each piece a worn, nostalgic presence - as though it has always existed. Whenever possible, I embrace sustainability in my practice by reusing materials and working with reclaimed boards or surplus paints Imperfection is welcomed. Brush marks remain visible. Edges are softened. Nothing is overworked. Each painting is a quiet story - of migration, waiting, working, remembering, Through contemporary minimalist naïve folk art, I aim to capture a feeling rather than a place: stillness, distance, salt wind, and home.

Ryan Woodturning

From Forest to Form Welcome to my shop. I believe that every fallen tree has a second life waiting to be revealed. I specialize in handcrafted woodturned pieces that celebrate the raw, untamed beauty of the Irish landscape. I work with locally sourced logs and enjoy bringing a piece from raw timber through to a finished piece. My preference is to let the grain, shape, and imperfections of the wood guide each piece. Rooted in Ireland Every bowl, platter, and hollow form in my collection begins its journey in Irish soil. I work exclusively with locally sourced Irish hardwoods. By focusing on native species, I capture the specific character of the Irish seasons in every grain. My Work No two pieces in my shop are identical. The unique knots, burrs, and growth rings ensure that you are holding a one-of-a-kind heirloom. Whether it’s a functional salad bowl designed for daily use or a decorative hollow form intended as a centerpiece, my pieces are built to last a lifetime, evolving in character and warmth as they age. Thank you for visiting my shop!
